I have searched for a slightly smaller 5 qt bowl, which would be compatible with my 6.5 quart KitchenAid *Narrow* Bowl Lift 6000 HD mixer Model KSM6573 that was sold via
Ia Canadian Tire/Costco/Amazon for several years. It is an amazing, high-powered mixer for bread bakers, but getting bowls & paddles that fit both the narrower, non-standard tulip-shaped original bowl is difficult and requires hours of research, trial & error, and KA has little info available since it's a non-standard, discountinued model. Virgina Service Supply was a recommendation in the comments of a few sold-out listings for the original tulip-shaped bowl (which is no longer made) on the KA website & Amazon, and took a chance, as their pricing was better than a used bowl on eBay, and they have a great Google reviews for quality, reliability & customer service. I ordered the bowl, and within a few hours received notice from UPS that a package was on the way! It was well-packaged to prevent shipping damage, too. It is well-made - no dents, rust, scuffs or scratches, sturdy welds for the handle & mounting/locking tabs, and the finish is beautiful - no burrs, sharp or uneven edges, etc. I did a quick check of the fit, and it's perfect! After a quick clean with a bit of Pink Stuff & Dawn to remove the finishing polish (necessary on all quality steel kitchen items to prevent black dtraks during use), I whipped up a batch of muffins. Super-pleased with this bowl. And even happier to discover that it's straight sided rim will allow use of a pouring shield - the tulip rim on the larger, original oem bowl doesn't. This bowl is going to be used a lot, esp over the holidays, and should last many, many years. THANK YOU Virginia Service Supply!
