GE Steam sensor

The same part is used for many microwave ovens. It provides feedback on cooking status for 'sensory cooking,' that is, cooking by food condition, not time. It is located in the air plenum above the microwave, sensing the steam coming off food, thus determining how long to cook. Ordering the part was easy, shipping was quick, good feedback on shipment, and it arrived on schedule. Installation required some time and searching on how to do the replacement without taking the oven out of the wall cavity. After some creative panel removal, removing and installing the replacement sensor was easy and quick. The sensory cooking feature now works as it did before the part failure.

Failed humidity sensor

Easy to install if you can use a screwdriver

GE Microwave only about 3 years old and steam sensor error. Love using the auto beverage reheat for my cup of coffee. Without the steam sensor it doesn't know when the cup is hot. Remove two small screws on top to free the front plastic vent face. Se
